A group of 11 students from years 11 to 13 spent two weeks in Japan over the October holidays. The group were home stayed in Kamagaya for a week where we were able to renew ties with our sister city friends there. The students gained a huge amount from this experience, not only language and culture but also the opportunity to establish friendships that for some will last their whole lives.
Throughout the tour both in the homestay and on our travel around the country students certainly showed the Trident ‘kia manawanui’ spirit in everything they did. They used their language wherever they could and were game to try anything. This was yet another occasion when I was proud to be a part of the Trident community and what it represents. I would like to thank all those in our community who helped and supported us in our preparation and fundraising.
